Rocket Vinyasa is a dynamic vinyasa class with a series of postures based on a modification of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary and Intermediate series developed by Larry Shultz. The rocket class renews energy and vitality in the body by working directly on the joints and stimulating all the systems of the body.
Yin yoga is a slower paced class that targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments and fascia, bringing the body into balance and increasing it’s natural range of motion. The class is not heated and most poses are done seated or lying down and held for 3-5 minutes. You will leave feeling refueled and restored.

After suffering years of chronic neck and back pain I had no idea how good my body could feel or that I could be out of pain. I believe that yoga is one of the best forms of physical, mental and emotional therapy. I'm inspired to share the healing benefits of this practice with our students. Anyone can do yoga and fuel their body and life through a regular practice.
I believe this yoga is best form of healthcare! I enjoy celebrating with students when they share that they had a personal breakthrough in class. I love being a part of this very special yoga community which feels like family to me!
After years of competitive running I turned to yoga to help repair my injured body. Almost immediately I was able to feel the benefits of the practice, both physically and emotionally. I am consistently amazed at how yoga uses the body to heal the body, and as a teacher I am so excited to be able to share that with others.
Being a drug addict and alcoholic in recovery is when I took my first yoga class - I couldn’t believe how incredible I felt. I was literally re-introduced to my body and my soul. The revelation that the solution to addiction was held deep inside my body all along was an absolute miracle. I feel compelled to teach how yoga can heal addictions, and all that ails you.
I turned to yoga as a way of reintroducing physical activity to my life after having two heart surgeries to treat a Cardio Arrhythmia, with the intention that yoga would be a 'bridge' to moving on to other forms of exercise like running or sports.
I soon realized that yoga was exactly what my body needed to heal, recover and get back in the game of being physical. It's the most challenging yet rewarding thing I have ever done for myself and I want to share my passion for the practice with others.
Athens has an incredible yoga community with people from all walks of life and I feel very fortunate to be a part of this amazing group.
I first came to yoga as a dancer in search of a new cross-training regimen, hoping to increase my flexibility and reintroduce balance to my body. I found that and so much more! Yoga has helped me heal chronic injuries, alleviate anxiety and depression, and overall improve the quality of my life and my relationship with myself. I feel so grateful to be able to share my love for this practice with the incredible yoga community at Fuel!
My first class at Fuel was on New Year’s Day 2013 as a last-ditch effort to pull myself out of a depression. I knew I needed a big change in my life, but I didn’t know how or what form that change would take and I was willing to try anything. The more I practiced, the more I started to tune in to my body. I hadn’t realized how disconnected I’d been from myself, or how much grief, anger, and trauma I had been holding and carrying around in my body. My yoga practice has taught me to really listen to myself, and to allow my feelings to move through me as I move and breathe through the asanas. It’s completely changed how I take care of myself. My yoga practice has been such a transformational and guiding force in my daily life, and I feel so honored to get to share that with other people as a teacher now. Fuel is more than a place to practice - it’s a community dedicated to cheering you on and offering support on your path. No matter where you are on your journey, no matter what you’re dealing with, the tools yoga offers are invaluable for helping you become the best version of yourself. You just have to get on the mat.
When the student is ready, the teacher appears." Yoga found me in 2006, when I was 23 and volunteering with the Peace Corps in Madagascar. I was deeply in need of healing. Years of competitive gymnastics and marathons had run my knees and back into the ground. Within a week of practicing hot yoga, l knew I wanted to dedicate my life to service and teach to heal.
In 2016, I left my English teaching career behind and flew to Australia to train with Craig Villani at Raja Yoga Academy where I received my 500-Hour certification. I have been teaching full time ever since. In addition, I had the chance to own and direct Yoga Key (formerly Bikram Yoga Key West), one of the oldest original hot yoga schools in the country.
I am grateful to serve in yoga, honoured to be part of the Fuel Hot Yoga family and excited to call Athens my home. It it my wish for each and every student to see their strength, tap into their own Truth and experience real joy and peace within their bodies and minds.
"Yoga saved my life.
In February of 2013, I was riding my bike in Chicago when a woman opened her car door into the bike lane. I was thrown from my bike into traffic and run over by a truck. I broke 23 (of 24) ribs, both sides of my pelvis, both collarbones, my left hip, left shoulder, fractured a vertebra, punctured a lung, and cracked my skull.
Doctors didn't think I would survive, let alone walk again. I know for a fact that if I had not been practicing asana regularly before the accident (I was, in fact, on my way home from class when it happened), I would not be alive today. Doctors have credited my survival, in large part, to the flexibility and resilience in my spine. And I know also, that had I not returned to regular practice as soon as possible afterwards, I would not have recovered anywhere close to the place I am.
In the years since the accident, my yoga practice has transformed from purely physical pursuit to a lifestyle that guides me on a path toward continuous self-improvement inside and out. But I will always believe fully in the transformative power of movement. Building a connection to the physical body is an essential first step to creating change in the deeper, more subtle parts of the self. "

Although the studio is beautiful, the best part of Bikram Yoga Athens is the teachers. They are very knowledgeable not only of the yoga, but of the body as well. They have been so helpful as I work through my issues and regain balance in my body.
"This is the best yoga studio in Athens. It is very clean, the staff is professional, there are lots of options for class times, class starts and ends on time and everyone works really hard to make this challenging style of yoga accessible to anyone who wants to take it on."
